“Think and be reasonable, it’s not too late”: Sahakyan addressed all political forces in Armenia

Yesterday, what happened in Artsakh was a historical event and an important declaration to the whole world. This was stated by Ishkhan Sahakyan, a member of the “Hayastan” faction and coordinator of the “Resistance” movement, during a press conference.

“The people of Artsakh, the state governance bodies, and parliamentary forces declared together that Artsakh can never be part of Azerbaijan. It was clearly stated in Artsakh that any attempt to annex Artsakh to Azerbaijan is unacceptable for the people of Artsakh and will meet resistance. The next declaration was that no Armenian authority has the right to sign a document that would limit the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination. A clear message was sent from Artsakh to the Armenian people to continue standing by Artsakh,” said Sahakyan, emphasizing that the ball is in Armenia’s court.

“In response to the call from Artsakh, we are inviting a rally on November 5 at 15:00 at France Square. It will be a rally of unity, called by the ‘Resistance’ movement, but it is a rally of the Armenian people. By participating in this rally, citizens of the Republic of Armenia should affirm that they stand for their homeland. This rally is not a political or party rally; it is a gathering of the Armenian people with an Armenian agenda. I want to appeal to His Holiness the Catholicos of All Armenians, expecting his blessing and support for this very important initiative,” added Sahakyan.

He also called upon intellectuals, the scientific community, and the youth to come forward at this crucial moment and participate in the rally. “I urge all political forces to put aside party, personal, and political interests, and competition, and to unite around this important idea. I also urge the political majority; it is not the time to defend Nikol, by defending Nikol you are sacrificing Armenia and Artsakh, think and be reasonable, it’s not too late,” said Ishkhan Sahakyan.
