Shooting Incident Results in Fatal Gunshot Wound: Investigative Committee Provides Details

The Investigative Committee of Armenia is conducting necessary investigative and procedural actions within the framework of a criminal case initiated by the military investigative department of the main investigative directorate. This is regarding the case of a reserve soldier who allegedly killed a fellow serviceman and caused injury to his health. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

On October 29, 2022, at the combat position of military unit N of the Ministry of Defense, preliminary data suggests that a reserve soldier had an argument with fellow service member Misak Petrosyan, after which he fired his automatic rifle, inflicting a fatal gunshot wound to Petrosyan's head. Subsequently, the shooter also fired at his own foot, causing a gunshot injury.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 155, Part 1, and Article 528, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. An investigation is underway.

It is worth reminding that the Ministry of Defense reported that reserve soldier Misak Norayri Petrosyan sustained a fatal gunshot wound from a shot fired by a fellow serviceman.
