If the diplomatic option does not work, the CSTO must plan a military operation: Nikol Pashinyan
“For a long time now, Azerbaijan has been presenting to Western countries and the European Union the following image: that the Armenian government, personally Prime Minister Pashinyan, is bringing in more and more Russian troops to Armenia, thereby creating a threat to Azerbaijan's independence, security, and sovereignty. Our European partners say, ‘You seem to be a democratic country, adopting a peace agenda, why are you bringing in Russian troops, creating a threat to Azerbaijan?’ I said, you know what, if our arguments are not convincing, form a monitoring mission, come and see what is happening,” Pashinyan stated during the ruling party's congress today.
He also talked about the CSTO meeting that took place yesterday, stating that a clear political assessment needs to be made, and a roadmap for restoring Armenia's territorial integrity should be adopted, which may include the following: “If diplomatic efforts with Azerbaijan do not work, the CSTO must plan military actions to restore the territorial integrity of the member state. We decided to assign the Foreign Ministries the task of resolving this issue.”
