Pashinyan's Message to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has sent a congratulatory message to UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on the occasion of taking office as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland and as the leader of the Conservative Party. In the message, he stated:

“Your Excellency, I extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes on your assumption of the offices of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland and leader of the Conservative Party. You are taking up the position of Prime Minister at a time of complex geopolitical processes and amidst socio-economic and political challenges facing your country, where political leaders are required to exercise maximum prudence and foresight to overcome the created challenges. I am confident that you will lead the United Kingdom on the path of development and prosperity.

This year, the Republic of Armenia and the United Kingdom are marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, which presents a good opportunity to uncover the untapped potential between our countries and outline new directions for cooperation. Armenia greatly values the further development and deepening of cooperation with the United Kingdom, based on common values and practical interests. Despite serious security challenges, Armenia continues to steadfastly implement democratic reforms, and in this context, we highly appreciate the support of the Government of the United Kingdom.

I am hopeful that during your tenure, Armenian-British relations will gain a new impetus and quality for the benefit of our countries’ prosperity and the welfare of our friendly peoples.
