Firefighting Plane Crashes on Etna Volcano in Italy

A firefighting plane has crashed on the Etna volcano in Sicily, Italy. This was reported by the local newspaper la Sicilia. It is noted that the aircraft was engaged in combating a fire that had broken out in the nearby city of Catania.

The tragedy occurred when the plane was returning for water necessary to extinguish the flames. Eyewitnesses reported seeing an explosion following the plane's fall.
