Levon Kocharyan Denies and Demands Apology for False Information

Levon Kocharyan, the younger son of Armenia's second president Robert Kocharyan, categorically denied the allegations regarding real estate ownership in the United States. In a Facebook post, he stated, "We have already denied this several times, and now I am repeating it specifically for the deserter. We do not own any house, apartment, or real estate in the U.S., and we have never had any, neither I nor my wife nor anyone else from our family or even someone acting on our behalf."

Kocharyan addressed accusations made by Arman Babajanyan, who has been convicted for forging documents to evade military service. Babajanyan claimed, "During a meeting at the request of the U.S. authorities, it became clear that former Armenian officials, including Robert Kocharyan’s family, own apartments worth several million dollars in the very busy and expensive 'Americana' center in Glendale, most of which are rented out."

In his post, Kocharyan reiterated, "We do not own any house, apartment, or real estate in the U.S. It is astounding that someone would spread such blatant lies. I urge this individual to retract the false information he disseminated and to apologize for it."

Additionally, he called on the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan to seek clarification from Babajanyan, as he references U.S. authorities in an attempt to lend credibility to his falsehoods. Kocharyan also suggested that Armenia’s National Security Service and the Prosecutor General's Office investigate the matter and inform the public.
