Pashinyan Will Also Attend Parliament Session

Hraparak newspaper reports: "Today will mark the start of the next session of the National Assembly. Based on the agenda approved by the NA Council, it can be inferred that it will last only a few hours. The agenda includes just 9 issues, with another 18 issues presented for a second reading. The first reading is not a lengthy process, but the second, as a rule, lasts one or two minutes. Notably, of the nine proposals included in the agenda, eight are authored by the government, while only one, a highly important proposal, has been submitted by the MPs of the ruling Civil Contract party: the proposal suggests that MPs include their signature below the text of the oath in the NA regulations.

It is remarkable that in such a low-efficiency working parliament, bonuses continue to be distributed. Last week, members of the Civil Contract party also received bonuses, presumably for dutifully approving the projects brought forth by the government. Starting next week, preliminary discussions on the draft budget for 2023 will begin in the permanent committees of the National Assembly. On the first day, October 31, Pashinyan will also attend the parliament to give the opening remarks."
