New Proceedings to be Initiated Regarding Missing Recordings from the Accident Involving Pashinyan's Motorcade: 'Hayots Ashkarh'
According to information from the 'Hayots Ashkarh' newspaper, it is not ruled out that a new criminal proceeding will be initiated regarding the case of Sona Mnatsakanyan, the pregnant woman who died as a result of an accident involving Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's motorcade, which could be related to the missing recordings.
We have received information that a complaint has been filed with the Prosecutor General's Office regarding the missing recordings. As to whether the complaint will be granted and whether a new criminal proceeding will be initiated or rejected, we will follow the developments closely.
Earlier, it was reported that there was radio communication among all the vehicles accompanying the police and traffic police, but the conversations were not recorded. The representative of the victim's legal heir, lawyer Raffi Aslanyan, stated, “It has been established in the case materials that there was radio communication among the motorcade vehicles; however, there was no recording of the communication due to a technical malfunction, while the government's decision stipulates that the radio communication should not only be recorded but also registered in the traffic police patrol unit.” The victim's side has reasonable suspicions that the failure to provide the radio recordings aims to obstruct the objective proceedings of the criminal case.
Through the recording, it would become clear what instructions Nikol Pashinyan gave, whether he commanded to stop or not, and indeed what was discussed.
It is worth noting that the case related to the fatal accident involving the pregnant woman Sona Mnatsakanyan and Pashinyan's motorcade is currently in court and has been assigned to the judge Karen Farhkoyan of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction.
