Mkhitaryan Comments on His Goal and Match Victory
The midfielder of Milan's Inter and former player of the Armenian national team, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, commented on the 4-3 victory against Fiorentina in the 11th round of the Italian championship. The team, led by Italian Simone Inzaghi, secured the win with a goal from Mkhitaryan in the dying moments of the match.
“The most important thing is the victory; it doesn’t matter who scored the goal. The main thing is that we earned three crucial points. I believe we deserved the win. We started the game strongly, but then we hesitated a bit, we got tired during the match, but in the end, we showed character and won. We knew it wouldn't be easy here, as Fiorentina has many qualities; they are an attacking team, and it’s always difficult to play against them. It’s strange that this season they have only 10 points because they are playing good football, but we fought until the end and deserved this victory. In the last 15 minutes, we had no strength left, but I wanted to continue, to fight until the end. We need to play with all our strength and not think about conserving energy for the next match,” Mkhitaryan stated, as quoted by Sky Sport Italia.
Mkhitaryan, who transferred from Roma to Inter in the summer, scored his first goal for the Milanese team.
