White House Discusses Starlink Satellite Connectivity in Iran with Musk

The U.S. administration is in talks with American businessman Elon Musk regarding the potential provision of Starlink satellite connectivity services in Iran by SpaceX. This was reported by CNN on Friday, citing sources.

“We are interested in finding ways to enable Iranians to access the internet and use their phones everywhere,” a U.S. official was quoted as saying, “Thus, Starlink is one option, but it is not the only one.”

According to CNN, Washington is seeking ways to support the protest movement in Iran: “We are trying to do everything we can to assist the aspirations of the Iranian people.”

On October 14, the White House announced that Vice President Kamala Harris met with Iranian-American actress and activist Nazanin Boniadi. They discussed the ongoing protest actions in Iran and the U.S. government's efforts to provide internet access to Iranians.
