Sasun Khachatryan's Nephew Under Investigation by Law Enforcement: 'Joghourd'
'Joghourd' newspaper reports that for about a year, Artak Sargsyan, the nephew of the head of the Anti-Corruption Committee, Sasun Khachatryan, has been under the radar of law enforcement.
During 2021, while serving as the head of the Ministry of Justice's 'Hospital for Convicts,' Sargsyan, as a public official, ordered the torture of convict Serob Mkrtchyan. Two of his employees are currently in custody for this act, while Sargsyan, backed by the Committee's president Sasun Khachatryan, not only remains unarrested but has also received a new appointment—being designated as the head of the Ministry of Justice's Penitentiary Service Staff.
The case is currently in court; we will see what the court decides regarding the brother of the head of the Anti-Corruption Committee, Sasun Khachatryan. Following the development of events, it is evident that everything will be done to extricate Artak Sargsyan from this situation. Why is that? The fact is that on October 19, on the Day of the Penitentiary Employee, Artak Sargsyan, the accused brother of Sasun Khachatryan, was seated next to Ruben Khalapyan, the head of the well-known 'KGB Outpost' in Yerevan Central Prison, which indicates a lot.
