Crane Falls on Gas Pipeline, Leak Reported: What We Know

On October 20, at 19:07, the Aragatsotn Regional Crisis Management Center received a report that a crane had overturned onto a gas pipeline in the village of Noramarg, leading to a gas leak. This information was provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia.

A team from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was discovered that a "MAZ" brand crane (driver: A.P., born in 1978) had veered off the roadway and fallen onto a high-pressure gas pipeline (approximately 200 mm in diameter), resulting in a gas leak.

The gas leak was stopped by staff from the gas emergency service. Rescuers secured the vehicle and maintained vigilance until the completion of recovery work by the gas emergency service personnel.
