Why There is Discontent with the Interim Secretary of the City Hall and the Reason for His 'Unconstrained' Status: 'Fact'
According to the 'Fact' newspaper, the lack of understanding between Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan and the city hall staff has become increasingly evident lately. Evidence of this includes the mayor's harsh remarks and dissatisfaction during consultations with department heads and district leaders.
Sources from the 'Fact' newspaper assure that this ongoing 'chaos' is largely attributable to the acting secretary of the city hall, Seyran Mejlumyan. In general, there is significant dissatisfaction with Mejlumyan, not only regarding his core functions and the reports he submits to the mayor on the implementation of directives but also concerning several other issues.
In particular, it has been noted within the city hall that he seems to be attempting to take full control over the process of legalizing illegal constructions, with applications regarding these constructions being processed primarily for those whose owners manage to establish contact with him.
Our source has indicated that one of the reasons Mejlumyan feels quite 'unconstrained' is his strong connections within the Anti-Corruption Committee.
