Restaurant Owner's Family in Paris Faces Threats After Expelling Ukrainians with 'Long Live Putin' Phrase

The owner of the Cozy Montparnasse restaurant in Paris and his family have begun receiving threats from Ukrainians after two refugees from Ukraine were denied entry to the café and were expelled with the phrase 'Long Live Putin.'

"I'm receiving an enormous number of messages. The restaurant's phone also keeps ringing. My husband is constantly getting messages. I am also constantly receiving messages on social networks. They are intimidating me; I don’t even look at them," Ivanan, the restaurant owner’s wife, told РИА Новости.

Threats of attack are directed not only at the establishment’s owner and his wife, but also at other family members and friends, as well as their children. The latter are advised to "look around" because their addresses have already been discovered.

Ivanan admits that she is frightened by what is happening. According to her, the conflict with the two Ukrainians arose because they refused to pay, claiming to be refugees. However, they were carrying Louis Vuitton bags, and the girls had long nails.

“People often come to us, first greeting us, and then saying, ‘We are Ukrainians,’ and that’s it,” the woman told the media indignantly.

She also spoke about why the phrase regarding Vladimir Putin was uttered. According to her, before that, representatives from Ukraine had threatened the establishment's owner that they would give “bad publicity.”
