Gyumri's 'Thieves in Law' to Remain in Custody, New Details

The court session concerning the criminal case against individuals with criminal subcultures and their accomplices concluded a short while ago at the Shirak Regional Court. The session started at 16:00 and lasted until 22:00, according to Aravot.am.

There are eight defendants in total, of whom four have been released on bail. The judge presiding over the case is Roman Smbatyan. Among the defendants are two 'Thieves in Law': Suren Avetisyan, known in broad circles as 'Pashi Tghayi Suro Lenakan'ski', and Artyom Ghazaryan, referred to as 'Zapi Yegan Artyom Lenakan'ski'. He is the nephew of the 'Thief in Law' Andrnik Sogoyan, known as 'Zap Lenakan'ski'.

The court rejected the request to release 'Pashi Tghayi Suro Lenakan'ski' on a pledge of 137 million drams worth of real estate. It also denied the lawyer's application to release 'Zapi Yegan Artyom Lenakan'ski' on a 30 million dram bail.

The court did not change the pre-trial restrictions for Tsolak Gevorgyan, known as 'Textili Tsolo', and Karen Varosyan, known as 'Afishi Karen'. The lawyer had requested the release of Karen Varosyan on a pledge of 63 million drams worth of real estate.
