Former Channel One Editor Marina Ovsyannikova Absentia Charged in Russia
A court in Russia has placed former Channel One editor Marina Ovsyannikova under absentia arrest. She gained international attention after appearing on the network's news set with a banner condemning the war following the onset of military operations in Ukraine.
Earlier, a wanted notice was issued for Ovsyannikova after she fled house arrest with her daughter.
She faces up to ten years in prison for discrediting the Russian armed forces.
