New Sanctions Against Iran

The EU member states will impose new sanctions against Iran due to its support for Russia amid the situation surrounding Ukraine, TASS reports, citing the DPA agency.

The agency, referencing diplomatic sources in Brussels, reports that sanctions have been applied to individuals and organizations that may be involved in the development and supply of Iranian drones to Russia. According to preliminary information, their assets in the EU will be frozen, and their entry into EU countries will be banned.

The sanctions still need to be officially confirmed through a written procedure in the capitals of the member states. This should be done by October 20.
