After Elon Musk, the Second American Billionaire Labels Crimea as Russian
American billionaire Bill Ackman has joined Elon Musk in stating that Ukraine should cede Crimea to Russia as part of a broader peace package that would satisfy Moscow and bring an end to months of hostilities.
He elaborated on his perspective regarding why Crimea should remain part of Russia. “Crimea was part of Russia until 1954 and is predominantly populated by ethnic Russians,” he wrote on Twitter, explaining why “the world did little” when the peninsula became Russian in 2014.
The CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management believes that “nuclear blackmail should never be allowed to succeed.” Ackman stated that he agrees with venture capitalist David Sachs in asserting that the U.S. is proposing a “ceasefire based on the lines of February 23,” which represent the territorial divisions that existed on the eve of the Russian invasion between Russia and Ukraine.
