Turkey Tests Ballistic Missile in the Black Sea
Turkey has tested a short-range ballistic missile under a secret program. Bloomberg reports that the launch took place from a mobile platform in the Black Sea, near the city of Rize, which is close to the border with Georgia.
According to the agency, the missile traveled 561 kilometers in 458 seconds before falling near the coast of the Sinop port. This sets an absolute record for any similar weapon developed in Turkey.
The report notes that the secret project, named 'Tayfun,' has been in development for several years. No further details were provided by the sources.
