The Overpass Connecting Marshal Baghramyan Avenue to Kasian Street is Now Open
The overpass connecting Marshal Baghramyan Avenue to Kasian Street is now open and operational following the completion of repairs. This was announced by Yerevan's Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan on his Facebook page.
His post states the following: “The urgency of the repair work was paramount because two expansion joints of the bridge were damaged, which in turn had affected the pavement and the entire surface. Such an emergency situation could have led to collapse.
As a result of the repair work, isolation, concreting, and strengthening operations were carried out, and the overpass's curb stones have been renovated.
To extend the lifespan of the bridges and avoid durability issues, the bridges in the city will now be subjected to more urgent and targeted maintenance. To improve the status and maintenance of infrastructure, existing and future programs will implement new approaches, increasing focus on planning deadlines to avoid traffic congestion as much as possible.”
