6-Year-Old Child Dies After Surgery at Arabkir Medical Center
Recently, media outlets reported that a 6-year-old boy named Andranik Khalatyan from the village of Aragatsavan in the Talin region of Aragatsotn Province has died at the Arabkir Medical Center in Yerevan without regaining consciousness.
Auroranews attempted to contact the staff of the medical center to verify the information and understand what happened, but the staff clearly avoided speaking with us. An employee who answered our phone call mentioned that the call would be transferred to the reception. A few minutes later, a woman answered the call. “I am the cleaner, I do not have any information,” she said and quickly disconnected the call.
We called again, and the staff member who answered said that the call was supposed to be transferred to the reception and that it was impossible for a cleaner to have answered. “Wait, I will connect you right away,” she said, but after keeping us on hold for 2 minutes, they disconnected the call again.
It is worth noting that the child's parents had earlier stated: “On September 22, my son Andranik, who is 6 years old, had leg pains. A specialist examined the child and said that the cause of the pain was the tonsils, which needed to be removed. That day, we came to the Arabkir Medical Center happily and with sweet words, bringing him on his own feet, where the tonsils were supposed to be removed. The surgery took place. The surgeon was Clara Ordoyan, who works at the Arabkir Medical Center as an ENT specialist. We were told that the operation would last a little over 1 hour; however, for some unknown reason, it lasted over 4 hours. To be honest, we became very worried that the surgery took so long. Then we were informed that the child's vein was damaged. Two days later, the child fell into a coma in the hospital. His condition deteriorated completely. The responsibility lies with the surgeon, Clara.”
