VIDEO: What Crete Island Looks Like After the Flood

A man has died as a result of flooding caused by heavy rainfall on the Greek island of Crete, reports the Athens-Macedonian News Agency citing local authorities.

"A man's body has been discovered in one of the suburbs of Heraklion, where torrential rains on Saturday created severe flooding," the agency stated.

It is noted that the roads in several regions of the island have turned into rivers.

According to the newspaper Kathimerini, several people are missing due to the floods. The publication also reports that the airport in Crete's capital, Heraklion, is closed.
