VIDEO: Activists Pour Red Substance on Van Gogh's 'Sunflowers' Painting
Climate activists have poured a canister of red substance on Van Gogh's 'Sunflowers' painting at the National Gallery in London. According to the BBC, the substance was tomato soup.
In the footage, activist women are seen wearing Just Stop Oil T-shirts. They open the canisters and pour the contents over the masterpiece. Next, they apply glue to their palms and adhere their hands to the gallery wall.
The Metropolitan Police announced that they have been arrested.
The gallery stated that the painting was not damaged as it was protected by a glass layer.
