Lavrov's Remarks at Meeting with Mirzoyan and Bayramov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, during a meeting in Astana with the heads of the foreign affairs ministries of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, expressed hope to discuss the implementation of the trilateral agreements reached between the leaders of the three countries in 2020 and 2021 in order to understand how to move forward.

According to Lavrov, the trilateral statements signed at a high level lay the groundwork for regulating all aspects of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as for establishing sustainable peace and stability in the South Caucasus.

“Of course, the agreement on the peace treaty is a separate topic, as is the fulfilling of commitments regarding the unblocking of economic and transport communications, and the implementation of delimitation through the creation of a bilateral commission with the advisory support of the Russian side. Given that time is passing quickly and events are developing quite sharply, I believe today is a very opportune moment to discuss this topic and see what we can report to our leaders regarding the implementation of the agreements they signed,” Lavrov stated.
