Baku Displeased with Macron's Statement
Statements by French President Emmanuel Macron regarding Azerbaijan are raising questions about his impartiality and prompting a reassessment of the country’s mediation efforts, says a comment released by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Macron's statements, which are 'directed against Azerbaijan, are primarily intended for a domestic audience and are one-sided.'
It is worth noting that Macron announced on the France 2 television channel that Azerbaijan had unleashed a terrible war in Nagorno-Karabakh and initiated several attacks on Armenian territory. He also stated that Moscow is using this conflict to destabilize the South Caucasus.
During a speech at the CIS summit on Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin called these remarks about Russia incorrect and unacceptable.
