Driver Killed in Crimean Bridge Explosion Initially Not Considered Suspect: РИА Новости

The driver of the truck that exploded on the Crimean Bridge is not considered a suspect based on preliminary information. This was reported today by РИА Новости, citing its own sources.

The law enforcement agencies do not rule out that the truck driver may have been unaware of the impending attack.

“The man who was driving the truck has not previously been suspected by law enforcement of involvement in terrorist activities. Likely, he too did not know that he was carrying out a criminal order,” said a source from the agency.

Earlier, the family of the truck driver involved in the explosion on the Crimean Bridge reported that they were aware of the tragedy. The driver’s daughter told KP.RU that she does not believe in her father's guilt. It is noted that the driver, 51-year-old Makhir Yusubov, is of Azerbaijani origin.

The terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge occurred on October 8. Alexander Bastrykin, head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, has stated that the identities of 12 individuals involved in the explosion on the Crimean Bridge have been established. According to the investigation, all of them are directly related to the execution of the terrorist act.
