Another Bonus Payment in the National Assembly

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that during the trip of the National Assembly Speaker to Moscow, the acting Vice-Speaker Hakob Arshakyan signed an order yesterday to reward MPs with a one-time cash bonus. The order states, "To encourage the MPs of the National Assembly of Armenia with a one-time monetary reward according to the annex," however, neither the annex nor clear information is provided regarding which MPs are being rewarded, how much, and for what reasons.

Opposition members informed us that they have not received any bonuses; on the contrary, their salaries have been significantly reduced every month due to reported absences. The motive behind the leadership of the National Assembly rewarding ruling party MPs, who quickly address the agenda items of the sessions and leave after consuming all the questions in a few hours, is known only to them—the members of the ruling party.
