Were the head and deputies of the Central Administrative District beaten in their office? - "Zhoghavor"
According to the "Zhoghavor" newspaper, about a month ago, the head and deputies of the Central Administrative District of Yerevan were beaten in their office. The incident is connected to a playground located in the center of Yerevan, where residents had been requesting the head and deputies of the Central Administrative District for a long time to improve their yard, but nothing was done.
About a month ago, several residents from the center of Yerevan went to the municipality to get clarifications. The discussion unfolded in the office of deputy mayor Romanos Safaryan, but it did not yield results as the deputy mayor used inappropriate language for an official, questioning whether they were playing a "spoiler?" One of the residents, who had held a high rank in the criminal hierarchy, explained that they had not come for that purpose.
As a result, a scuffle occurred with deputy mayor Romanos Safaryan, and the secretary urgently summoned the other deputy mayor, Nikolay Saribekyan. Subsequently, the mayor Samvel Ghukasyan entered the room, and all of them ended up receiving blows right in the office.
After the beating, the residents exited the building, while Mayor Ghukasyan turned to both Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan and Deputy Mayor Tigran Avinyan. Representatives of the community under Nikol Pashinyan's government, who strongly reject criminal subculture, did not address the issue through law enforcement, but rather sought the help of "thieves-in-law."
Yesterday, the "Zhoghavor" newspaper contacted the Central Administrative District, requesting the phone number of the deputy mayor whose office witnessed the beating. The employee immediately provided Romanos Safaryan's contact, but neither he nor the other deputy mayor or the head of the Central Administrative District, Samvel Ghukasyan, commented on the incident.
We spoke with Tigran Martirosyan, the head of the communal department. He stated: "You have incorrect information. If such a thing had happened, the police would have definitely been called." Following the incident of assault at the municipality, Tigran Avinyan also naturally denied the news regarding seeking help from "thieves-in-law," but employees of the municipality recount the details of the beating.
