Lavrov on the Need for Reforms in the UN Security Council

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has announced that the time has come for reforms in the UN Security Council. According to the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, there is a noticeable lack of developing countries in the UN Security Council, and this issue needs to be addressed.

“When last year six out of the fifteen members of the Security Council were Western countries, and next year, considering the re-election of non-permanent members, there will be seven—almost half—this is, of course, not good. Naturally, this is not a representative composition,” Lavrov said during an interview on ‘Rossiya-1’.
