In the CSTO, They Should Think Seriously About Azerbaijan's Formulations: Armen Grigoryan

The peace agreement is one process, while the creation of an international mechanism for resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is another process. This was stated by the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, on Public TV.

“If there are no changes in any additional approaches, we should proceed with this logic,” he said.

Commenting on the expanded proposals sent by the Azerbaijani side regarding the peace agreement, Grigoryan mentioned that these proposals were received by the Armenian Foreign Minister in Geneva. According to him, Azerbaijan's expanded proposals are in line with the previously presented five principles.

Regarding the statement by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zakharova, that the Russian proposal is more balanced for the parties, the Security Council Secretary stated that it still needs to be understood whether Baku accepts these proposals to be able to move forward.

“Russia is present in the region and their goal of being present is to ensure stability and security,” Grigoryan said, adding, “All the countries that will try to support this process, we will try to work with them.”

When asked what news there is from the CSTO, Grigoryan replied that they have no news from the CSTO.

“We have no news that the CSTO is preparing real steps to remove Azerbaijan from the sovereign territory of Armenia. I think the CSTO is already aware of what formulations Azerbaijan is giving in European capitals regarding the CSTO. I believe this is something the CSTO needs to think seriously about,” he said, adding that they are still waiting for a response from the CSTO.
