Cavushoglu Calls on French Turkish Community to Act Against Armenian Diaspora

Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavushoglu has traveled to Strasbourg to participate in the meeting of the presidents of parliaments of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). During his visit, he held a meeting with representatives of the Turkish community at the Turkish consulate, where he also addressed Armenian-Turkish relations. This was reported by ermenihaber.am.

Commenting on the Armenian-Turkish normalization process, he stated, 'We desire stability in the region. An opportunity has arisen for normalization with Armenia following Azerbaijan's victory.'

The Turkish minister highlighted that expatriate Turks should be more organized in response to the organized nature of the Armenian diaspora. 'As for Turkey, we need to be a bit more united. We have established the Turkish-American Leadership Committee in the U.S., which has started to work very effectively against the slanders of the Armenian diaspora directed at our country. We will do everything possible to strengthen this unity in Europe as well.'

According to Cavushoglu, in France, where 800,000 Turks live, they can conduct a more effective political strategy. 'Unfortunately, there is an Armenian diaspora here as well, some of whom do not have good intentions. They are against the normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia, as well as between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We are talking about a diaspora that is opposed to the formation of good relations and has a hostile attitude. We expect you to raise your voice against this diaspora in a more organized manner,' stated Cavushoglu.
