US State Department on Pashinyan-Aliyev Meeting
A representative of the US Department of State has addressed the meeting between the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Azerbaijan during daily briefings.
The US State Department stated that it welcomes the efforts of French President Emmanuel Macron and European Council President Charles Michel to give a new impetus to the comprehensive peace process.
"We particularly welcome progress on the EU monitoring mission in the region, which can bolster confidence between the parties and continues to promote negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan," said the representative.
It should be noted that on October 6, a quadrilateral meeting took place in Prague with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, French President Emmanuel Macron, and European Council President Charles Michel, after which a statement was released. According to it, Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to recognize each other's territorial integrity, and EU civilian observers will be stationed on the Armenian side of the border for two months.
