Armenian Prisoners of War Report Ill-Treatment by Azerbaijani Hospital Staff

On October 5, separate meetings were held with 16 servicemen who returned from Azerbaijani captivity. A meeting with one serviceman currently in the hospital will take place today. This was stated by Armenia's Human Rights Defender Kristine Grigoryan during a meeting with journalists on October 7.

“We will prepare a report to record the conclusions and factual data provided to us by the servicemen. We have identified evidence of torture, cruel treatment, and humiliation. Almost all of the returned prisoners have reported experiences of torture and mistreatment. Instances of mistreatment have also been recorded within Azerbaijani law enforcement bodies, including by hospital staff,” she added.

She noted that Azerbaijan's behavior has not changed at all.
