Swedish TV Calls Erdoğan Stupid

The Swedish ambassador to Turkey has been summoned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over a broadcast on Swedish state television that aired "offensive" remarks about Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

According to Ermenihaber, Ambassador Staffan Herrström was told at the ministry that making "rude and ugly statements" about Erdoğan and Turkey is unacceptable.

Swedish media reported that a comedian on the Swedish TV program referred to Erdoğan as stupid during a satirical segment. This incident occurred just ahead of a planned visit by a Swedish delegation to Ankara.

The representatives of both countries are expected to discuss issues related to the extradition of a group of individuals from Sweden to Turkey. Ankara agreed not to obstruct Sweden's NATO membership based on the condition that these demands are met.
