Russia's Foreign Ministry Comments on Musk's Plan for Ukraine
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commenting on businessman Elon Musk's proposal regarding Ukraine, stated that this is part of a public discussion and that the West has begun to ask questions about what is happening.
On Monday, Musk wrote that he doubts Ukraine's chances of victory in a large-scale war with Russia and called for peace between the parties. He also offered his vision for resolving the Ukrainian conflict. The plan proposes a 're-vote' in Donbas under 'UN supervision,' retaining Crimea as an 'official part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchev's error),' guarantees for Crimea's water supply, and a neutral status for Ukraine.
'There is no point in commenting on all of this, as it is part of a public discussion with various people—politicians, public figures, businessmen, sponsors, philanthropists, cultural figures, artists—who all have their opinions and participate in the discussion. Each has their own purpose and mission,' said Zakharova in an interview with Sputnik radio.
'Of course, the world is currently going through profound changes—not just changes, but shocks related to the situation created around Ukraine and incited by the West, and finally, perhaps, questions are starting to arise in the West: why is all this happening, and what is the role of the White House, the USA, and NATO organizations in all of this,' she added.
