Pashinyan Highlights Potential Directions for Progress
The situation along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border remains steadily tense. This was stated today by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a Q&A session with the government in the National Assembly.
“We see certain possibilities for easing the tension. However, it should be emphasized that we also see opportunities in relation to the content of the negotiation process,” Pashinyan said.
According to the Prime Minister, the diplomatic efforts and meetings held with various officials in international forums over the past ten days have “opened a specific space for advancement” for Armenia.
Pashinyan pointed out the possibility of mutual recognition of territorial integrity by Armenia and Azerbaijan as a significant direction. The next potential step involves initiating dialogue between Nagorno-Karabakh (NKR) and Azerbaijan, which Pashinyan considers fundamental.
Pashinyan also emphasized that Armenia is currently satisfied with the international response but needs to continue its consistent work in this direction. “It is clear that the entire international community is providing a precise evaluation and a roadmap concept, suggesting how we should resolve this issue and overcome the situation,” Pashinyan added.
