Borrell Says Ukrainian Conflict Has Entered a New Dangerous Phase
The Ukrainian conflict has entered a new dangerous phase. This was announced today by the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, as reported by TASS.
Borrell warned that conventional warfare could escalate into a nuclear conflict.
“Ukraine has gone on the offensive, and from that moment the conflict entered a dangerous phase, as we face the prospect of a terrifying scenario. We must not turn a blind eye to this,” he said.
On October 5, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev stated that Western countries seek to move military operations into Russian territory. He also noted that the U.S. and the U.K. aim to prolong the conflict.
Earlier, Borrell highlighted the impossibility of stopping the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He explained this by Russia's annexation of four regions: the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, as well as the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.
