Zelensky To Not Recognize Putin's Decrees on Crimea and Donbas

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has issued a document declaring that he will not recognize the decrees of Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.

"To declare null and void, meaning the decrees of the President of the Russian Federation, which do not produce legal consequences," states the text of the decree published on Zelensky's office website.

Specifically, the document lists the decree from March 17, 2014, recognizing Crimea as a sovereign independent state, the decree of February 21, 2022, on the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, and the decree regarding recognition from September 29.

On Tuesday, the Federation Council of the Russian Federation approved constitutional federal laws on the accession of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions to Russia during a session.
