In the Modern World, We Cannot Make Aggressive Statements Towards Neighbors: Simonian
During his visit to Russia, I will discuss issues related to the CSTO and the Armenia-Russia mutual assistance treaty, because Armenia has applied for assistance and has yet to receive a response, not even a negative one. This was stated by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian, during a briefing with reporters.
In response to the question about the possibility of exiting the CSTO, Simonian noted, 'It is quite possible that the CSTO may decide to withdraw from Armenia, because this organization does not provide an adequate response; I maintain that opinion.'
Regarding the peace agreement, Simonian remarked, 'All those people who offer negative opinions on the peace agenda, what alternative do they propose? Eternal warfare? Shall we enter Sasun, exit Mush, create a sea-to-sea Armenia? Is there anyone who can offer us a realistic alternative to all these aspirations and claims that we often like to say — that we will enter, seize, sea-to-sea Armenia, and so on? I do not take them seriously. In the modern world, we cannot make aggressive statements towards neighbors and have territorial claims,' said Alen Simonian.
