Greece's Foreign Ministry on the Brutal Killing of Armenian POWs by Azerbaijani Forces
Greece strongly condemns the brutal execution of unarmed Armenian prisoners of war by Azerbaijani armed forces and calls for an investigation to hold the perpetrators accountable. This was announced by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Twitter.
“We are extremely shocked by the horrifying reports of Azerbaijani armed forces executing unarmed Armenian prisoners of war. Greece firmly condemns such acts of violence and calls for a thorough investigation to hold the criminals accountable,” stated the Greek Foreign Ministry.
On October 2, a video was published on Azerbaijani Telegram channels showing Azerbaijani soldiers brutally shooting Armenian servicemen who had already surrendered at a combat checkpoint. Armenia's Human Rights Defender Kristinne Grigoryan stated that the killings of Armenian POWs by Azerbaijani forces occurred on September 13, during Azerbaijan's large-scale attack against the Republic of Armenia.
On October 3, the Office of the Representative of Armenia on International Legal Matters submitted the video of the killings of Armenian servicemen, circulating on social media, to the European Court of Human Rights and the International Court of Justice.
