Everyone Must Be in Their Place: Zakaryan Resigns from Parliamentary Mandate

MP Mikitar Zakaryan from the 'Armenia' faction of the National Assembly of Armenia and a member of the 'Reviving Armenia' party has resigned from his parliamentary mandate. Zakaryan made the announcement on his Facebook page.

"As an MP from the 'Armenia' faction of the National Assembly, I have decided to halt my parliamentary activities with the determination to serve my homeland more effectively. At the same time, I want to express that I will continue my political activities within the ranks of the 'Reviving Armenia' party, doing everything within my abilities to address the challenges before us," his post reads.

According to Zakaryan, Armenia and Artsakh are currently facing serious challenges, and the security of Armenia is also at stake, as enemy armed forces continue to remain in our sovereign territory. Therefore, he believes everyone must be in their place to effectively and definitively resolve these issues.

It is noteworthy that Zakaryan was elected as an MP on the nationwide electoral list of the 'Armenia' party alliance on June 20, 2021. Prior to that, he served as the Mayor of Meghri from 2016 to 2021.
