Ankara Protests: Pentagon's Actions Not to Their Liking
Ankara has strongly condemned the inclusion of the Greek Cypriot administration in the U.S. National Guard Bureau's state program by the Pentagon, according to a statement from Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ankara highlights that the U.S. decision disrupts the balance between the parties in Cyprus and that Washington has lost its impartiality.
“The actions of the U.S. have no justification; they come just two weeks after the lifting of the embargo on arms supplies to the Greek Cypriot administration,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry stated, as reported by the Anadolu Agency.
The announcement also noted that Turkey, as a guarantor state, will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of Turkish Cypriots.
