15 Tons of Waste Dumped in Lars Recently: Current Situation at the Checkpoint

The upper Lars checkpoint on the Russo-Georgian border is currently empty, reports MK. "As you can see from the footage from the webcam, there is no traffic jam on the highway leading to the border, and there are no cars at the checkpoint itself. It has been reported that public services have also cleared the edges of the road where citizens waiting in line had dumped garbage. A total of 15 tons of waste has been removed from there," the source noted.

Earlier, the head of North Ossetia, Sergey Menyaylo, had placed the region on high alert on September 28, restricting vehicle access, except for residents of the region, vehicles of Georgian citizens, and those who had traveled to Ossetia for vacation. Additionally, citizens subject to mobilization have started receiving notifications at the upper Lars checkpoint.
