NATO Warns of Possible Launch of Russian Poseidon Nuclear Drone

NATO intelligence has warned the alliance's command about potential tests of the Russian "Poseidon" underwater drone, which could generate a radioactive tsunami. This information was reported by the Italian publication Repubblica.

It is noted that this tsunami could wipe out megacities like New York or Los Angeles from the face of the earth.

According to the publication, the report from intelligence services concerns the movements of the multipurpose nuclear submarine "Belgorod" in the Kara Sea, where alleged launches of nuclear drones may take place.

Repubblica highlights that infrared satellites accessible to the United States cannot detect what is happening at the depths of the ocean, and the "Poseidon" is designed to minimize heat emissions, allowing it to move silently at speeds exceeding 100 kilometers per hour.

"Even a mere experimental announcement will enable the Kremlin to showcase its unique capability in the ongoing scuffle with the West—an uncounterable weapon," the publication writes.
