Who is the 19-year-old soldier found dead in a combat position today?

The conscript soldier who was found dead in a combat position due to a gunshot wound is Private Hrachya Tigrani Karamiya from the village of Pshatavan in the Armavir region.

Hrachya was drafted into the army last summer and was serving in Vardenis. He participated in the military operations initiated by Azerbaijan on the night of September 12 to 13.

“We hadn’t heard from him for three days. The boys had gone up to the positions, and we lost contact. Then he called and said everything was fine, he would come down from the positions soon. He was a very kind, calm, and thoughtful boy. I don’t understand what could have happened. The circumstances are still unclear to us,” said Hrachya Karamiya’s uncle, Azat Karamiya, in an interview with News.am.

Hrachya was the only son in the family, with one younger sister, and he wanted to become a traffic police officer.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported that on September 30, around 23:40, a conscript soldier, Private Hrachya Tigrani Karamiya (born 2003), was found dead at a combat position of military unit N of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, having sustained a gunshot wound under still unknown circumstances. An investigation is underway to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
