France Supports Deployment of Observers at Armenia-Azerbaijan Border: Ambassador
The Ambassador of France to Armenia, Anne Louyot, addressed the visits of diplomatic representatives accredited in Armenia to areas affected by Azerbaijani attacks on September 13 and 14 in a post on her Twitter page.
"It was a very useful visit to the areas affected by the attacks on September 13 and 14. Many houses and civilian infrastructure have been destroyed or damaged. Armenia must be able to live in peace. France continues to work towards respecting Armenia's territorial integrity," the ambassador wrote, sharing a photo taken in Vardenis.
In response to a question from the newspaper "Zhoghovurd" regarding Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement that the deployment of an international observation mission in Armenian territories affected by Azerbaijani occupation and border areas is an absolute necessity, the ambassador stated: "We support this idea, we are working in this direction, and negotiating with other countries."
It is noteworthy that yesterday, diplomatic representatives accredited in Armenia visited the Gegharkunik region. Among them were EU Ambassador Andrea Victorin, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Nicholas Jacob Scheermers, Ambassador of France Anne Louyot, Russian Ambassador Sergey Kopirkin, the U.S. Deputy Ambassador, the Acting Coordinator of the UN, and others.
