CIS Support Needed for Resolving Situation Between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Lavrov Says
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov believes that the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) format can be useful for addressing existing issues between Yerevan and Baku. He stated this during a speech at a meeting with heads of special services of CIS member states in Moscow.
“CIS support will be necessary for resolving the situation between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” he said.
It is noteworthy that Azerbaijan's armed forces have been intensively firing artillery and large-caliber firearms in the directions of Goris, Sotk, and Jermuk since September 13. The adversary also used drones.
As of 20:00 on September 14, a ceasefire regime was established along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, which is periodically violated by the Azerbaijani side.
