The head of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, has apologized to the residents of Derbent regarding an incident that occurred today.

It was reported that in Derbent, a vehicle was spotted making a loudspeaker announcement calling for all men of the city to present themselves at the military commissariat with their passports and military records.

"How can the military commissar of Derbent send people off with such a text? 'All male citizens of Derbent city must urgently present themselves at the military commissariat.' What kind of nonsense is this? Are you fools? ... Who authorized them to roam the city? This is nothing but the spread of false information, for which criminal code articles are also provided for today," stated Melikov.

The head of the republic demanded that an inspection be conducted and the strictest measures be taken against the perpetrators. He also thanked the citizens who informed him about the situation, which allowed for a quick resolution of the issue.
