Lieutenant Colonel Margaryan Killed Due to Azerbaijani Aggression Yesterday

On September 28, Lieutenant Colonel Nahapet Margaryan, an officer of the Armed Forces, was killed due to the aggression of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. The 32-year-old Nahapet was from the village of Taratung in the Vayots Dzor province. He had studied at the Vazgen Sargsyan Military University and had served in the Armenian Armed Forces. Nahapet was a participant in the 44-day war.

Community administrative leader Vahanik Markosyan told News.am that Nahapet was killed in the direction of Jermuk as a result of aggression from the adversary.

Nahapet Margaryan was married and had two children.

It is noteworthy that starting from 18:00 on September 28, Azerbaijani units opened fire on combat positions located in the eastern direction of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border using mortars and large caliber firearms. The Armenian side responded with counteractions. According to the Ministry of Defense, as of 22:00 on September 28, the situation at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border had relatively stabilized. The Armenian side has reported 3 casualties due to the Azerbaijani provocation.

As of 11:00 on September 29, no changes in the situation at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border have been recorded.
