International Observer Mission Deployment on Armenia-Azerbaijan Border Could Be a Solution: What Does Pashinyan Propose?

Armenia, as a responsible member of the international community, agrees that the conflict with Azerbaijan should be resolved peacefully. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government meeting, adding that Azerbaijan continues to engage in aggressive actions.

“In this situation, we consistently propose the following formula to our international partners, and we believe that a solution could be the deployment of an international observer mission on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, whether it be from the UN Security Council, the OSCE, or any other international organization,” he said.

The Prime Minister noted that Azerbaijan's actions also aim to disrupt normal life in Armenia. According to him, in the current conditions, it's impossible to consider life normal, as the public is under constant stress, waiting for news, and every such alert distracts them from the normal cycle of life and work.

“Each of us needs to focus on our everyday work, as the normal functioning of systems is extremely important for the economy and is of foundational significance. I urge everyone not to forget about this aspect,” he stated.

Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that Armenia’s law enforcement agencies, special services, and security council are continuously working on this issue. “We need to continue articulating and promoting our political message and implementing the agenda we propose. We must consistently and principially defend our independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity,” the Prime Minister added.
